Chrysler Museum of Art - Norfolk Virgina

The Chrysler Museum of Art was a great one with many kinds of media and history.

It had old artifacts from Egypt, Asia, Congo and more...

This is in the oil media which was done in 1840 by American artist Harriet Peale.

This is a statue by American Bessie Potter Vonnoh in 1906. It is called Girl Dancing.

This is a very unusual glass piece. It is fused and thermoformed glass strings. It was done by American artist Toots Zynsky in 2005.

This piece was done by Deborah Butterfield. It is called Kakiwi and was done in 2000. It is done in cast bronze. When Butterfield first made these statues, she made them of wood and paper. They proved to be too hard to transport so she created what, to me, looks like wood in cast bronze.

This was in an entire room -- called The Women Series - 1992-1999 by Gwen Akin & Allan Ludwig . They are gelatin, silver prints.

This was in their modern section. It is called Falling Man by Ernest Trova made in 1963.

This museum's glass collections are the best I have ever seen.

This is what they call cameo glass.

They have our local artist Dale Chihuly also.

Tiffany Studios is famous for there lamps. However, they do so much more than lamps....

You may think of Frank Lloyd Wright as an architect. He also designed glass and furniture and so much more.

I saved my favorite until the last. It is video art. I sat there mesmerized as the seasons came and went. It was done in 2008 by Jennifer Steinkamp.

NOTE: This may take forever to download, however, believe me it is worth the wait. Click on the play button > at the bottom left. It may help.

The US is amazing. Glad you are able to see so many awesome sights. The history is so interesting and we are glad there are a lot of buildings, etc. that have been preserved for everyone to enjoy.
