Just outside of Augusta Georgia (yes, home of the Masters Golf Tournament) is Harlem, Georgia which is the birthplace of Oliver Hardy of Laurel & Hardy. In Harlem is the only Laurel & Hardy museum.

Is it really them?????

Laurel & Hardy did 101 movies together.

Harlem was getting ready for the Laurel & Hardy festival where this small town of 2,400 population swells to 35,000.

Myrtle Beach SC and Our Visit with Steven

Myrtle Beach is like Las Vegas except I did not see any casinos. The theme around here is golf and the ocean. Every block has a ocean themed gift shop, a mini golf course or a seafood buffet or world cuisine...

We stayed on an old plantation near Myrtle Beach. It was a mile long...with a lake...and had been in the family for four generations. The lakes around here are different than Washington. They are not usually clear and have Cypress trees growing in them.

Morgan's son, Steven, came to Myrtle Beach to visit for a week. The first place we took him was the Hard Rock Cafe. He plays the guitar and he was thrilled. They had all kinds of guitars, clothing, and pictures of famous musicians.

Steven had a few firsts in this trip -- it was his first flight on an airplane and it was the first time he had seen the Atlantic Ocean.

We were first introduced to Fuddruckers in Victoria BC. It is a place you order your hamburger and then you get to put whatever you want on it from their "fixings" bar. Had to take Steven to it.

He did a real good job fixing his hamburger.

We took Steven to a number of other fun places...yet, his favorite was the Alligator Adventure. Not only did they have alligators, cocs, reptiles, tigers, birds and more. Some of those alligators were HUGE!!!!

They even had a couple of albino alligators.

And, one that had scales like a dragon.

Of course, he had to have a henna tatoo.

We loved having him come visit. Hope we can figure out how to do it next year.
